Appalachian stories, poems and songs of survival from National Endowment for the Arts-award winning poet Jacob Rakovan. As a survivor of Appalachia’s OxyContin and heroin epidemics, Rakovan will talk about survivor’s guilt, poverty, elegy and the reality of the Appalachian diaspora. He may mention a deep and abiding loathing for J. D. Vance. He will definitely play some banjo.
