Death of Film in the House of Silent Shadows renders the birth and death of 35mm motion picture stock. Its story is told in part by a projectionist of a small, older, independent movie theater. Two currents—cessation of use of film stock, and the self inflicted death of George Eastman—combine. Subjective notes of threat, morbidity, and maladaptive influence inform the story. Film is loved for what it has done. It is sad that film is dying.
