Blood & The River is an Appalachian history in verse exploring themes of poverty, violence, abuse, addiction, and survival. Performed by author Jacob Rakovan, recipient of the Thornwillow Patron’s Prize and named fellow by the National Endowment for the Arts as well as the New York Foundation for the Arts. Ravokan is the author of “The Devil’s Radio” and “Ars Memoria.” Rakovan owns Rochester’s Spirit Room.
